I take a majority of my photos throughout my daily life. I hardly ever set out to take a photo of a specific subject; I stumble upon the composition of my photographs. I want to bring people’s attention the details of everyday life that may be forgotten about because of routine. My photos are a mixture of my life in New York and my travels to Edinburgh, Dublin, London, and Paris. In my black and white darkroom prints I really enjoyed discovering how rich textures and tones can be revealed in the darkroom.
I draw inspiration from the photographer Jay Maisel. He captures daily life scenes and finds interesting, new ways to present them; Maisel focuses on the light, color, and gesture found in everyday life.
